Ballymore Group has launched a competition with Chelsea College of Art, challenging the Fine Art and Graphic Design undergraduate students to design the hoardings for the prestigious Embassy Gardens development at Nine Elms on the South Bank.

Embassy Gardens is a landmark development, adjacent to the new US Embassy and at the heart of the new Linear Park, a green ribbon which will connect Vauxhall town centre with Battersea Power Station. Students have been challenged to create designs which are their own interpretation of how Nine Elms will become a new neighbourhood for London, focusing on the impact of river and culture, architecture and the Linear Park.

The judging panel includes key influencers from Nine Elms on the South Bank; local author and critic Stephen Bayley, Hugh Allan, Director at Newport Street Gallery, Councillor Ravi Govindia, Leader of Wandsworth Council and Sean Mulryan, Chairman and Group Chief Executive of Ballymore Group.

Ballymore, committed to design excellence and nurturing local talent, will create a stunning visual interpretation of the neighbourhood for the hoardings around the almost 500 acre site, visible along Nine Elms Lane.

Commenting on the partnership, Hayleigh O’Farrell, Marketing Manager of Ballymore Group says: “Our collaboration with the prestigious Chelsea College of Art is incredibly exciting. The response to the challenge was overwhelming and we expect to see some highly creative and unique designs inspired by one of London’s most exciting new neighbourhoods.”

Hoardings will be unveiled at the end of March and will be on display along Nine Elms Lane.
